DAVIDE AMADUZZI
History
Davide Amaduzzi (Bologna, August 4, 1972) is an Italian racing driver, particularly eclectic for having raced with every type of car existing in international motorsport. He is also a sports driving instructor, a coach for drivers of all levels and currently collaborates as an external test driver for Ferrari for road and Racing GT cars. Furthermore, for several years now he has been acting as a commentator for several of the most successful post-GP Formula 1 television programs.

Career.
Born among cars, having a father who was a car bodyworker, he has been surrounded by engines since he was child. He started with karts around the age of 10 in the 100cc cadets, then moved on to the 100cc National and 100cc International with several notable results, such as the national title trophy won in Rioveggio in 1990. In mid-1991 he moved to cars with the F.3 of the Astofer team for various tests. In the winter he buys an old Dallara 90 with which, under totally family management, he will race in the Italian Formula 2000 and in the Formula 3 Challenge in 1992. After several positive results, in 1993 comes the first victory in the Formula 3 Challenge, this time with a Dallara 91 always self-managed. The good results of that year, with a 3rd place in the championship, induce the Delta Raging team to hire Davide for the Formula 2000 in 1994. Halfway through the season, decidedly competitive, he moves to the Italian Formula 3 championship driving an FTS Mugen of the same team which was the only team not to use Dallaras and managed internally by the University of Perugia. He will race in it for the entire final part of 1994, all of 1995 and part of 1996, driving a car that is not very competitive but which allows him to travel thousands of kilometers as a true professional. In 1996 he returned to self-management, given the constant lack of budget, and bought an old Tatuus Formula Renault from 95. And he took part in the French championship and in several European races. Good results culminated with 2nd place in the French championship in class B. The bond with the Formula Renault Europea continued in the following two seasons. In these years Davide had the opportunity to test Formula 1 for 3 times in as many unofficial tests. The first in 1995 with an AGS Ford on the circuit owned by the French team in Le Luc, the second in 1997 in Spa with a Larrousse Ford and the third with a Benetton Ford also in Spa.
Wonderful opportunities that he still remembers with enthusiasm and joy. In all 3 tests he was always the fastest of the day. But it never turned into a real possibility of being able to race in the F1 World Championship.
In 1999 he changed course. He moved to the USA to race in the American Formula Dodge championship. Very competitive from the start, he won several races and remained in the fight for the championship until the last race at Mid Ohio, when he lost the title due to an accident when he was in the lead.
He returned to Italy and without a budget in 2000 he limited himself to racing a Touring Trophy with the Citroen Saxo for a couple of races, but halfway through the season he returned to Formula racing in the Challenge Formula Promotion with a Formula Renault, dominating the entire final part of the races and winning the trophy.
In 2001 he moved to DBF Motorsport in Rome to race in Formula Arcobaleno, a category that would see him in the top 3 in the following two years. At the same time in 2002, Davide returned to the American continent, this time in Canada, to race with the local Formula 2000. In the two championships he ran, he won one and finish second in the other. The disaster of the twin towers in NY closed the possibility of continuing on American soil. In 2004, again with DBF Motorsport, in Formula Gloria, he won the Italian championship, the Swiss trophy and the European one with a great series of high-level results.
In 2005 a momentous change. He leaves (temporarily) the open wheels and debuts in the GT racing in the Fia GT World Championship with a Porsche 996 GT2 of the Czech team Vonka Racing. In the end he will be 5th.
But the love for formula has not ceased and once again he packs his bags. This time for Australia. Where he races in Formula 4000 arriving 2nd with the Sydney Team and then moves on to win in Formula 3000 always in Australia with the Dale team of Melbourne in 2007.
2007 is also the year of the Euro Formula 3000 with the Dueppi team, with a Lola 99, he wins Class B, with two beautiful victories at Vallelunga and at the Hungaroring.
2007 is one of the most eclectic years, with races also in the Italian prototype championship with Tampolli first and then with Picchio. But above all it is the year of the debut (winning) in the GT3 endurance with the Team Wheels, with the Viper and the return to the FIA GT World Championship with the Corvette C5 GT1 and the 2nd place in the world championship in the Citation class. In 2008 a change of brand that marks an important step for Davide’s future. He moves, with the La.Na team, to Ferrari. And with the Ferrari 550 he wins the Endurance GT series. In 2009, again with La.Na. moves to the Italian GT championship with a Ferrari 430 with which he wins in 2010 both in the Italian and European GT Sprint in the GT Cup. Successes repeated in the GT sprint also in 2011.
But in 2010 another step among the most important for Davide takes place. He returns to the USA and with Mike Wilson Racing he debuts in the ovals in the Arca Truck Series. Immediately obtaining positive top 10s. In a world totally different from the one known until now. This new discovery of the American ovals brings Davide into the Nascar orbit and in 2012, thanks also to the advice of a driver of great level and experience like Max Papis, he agrees with Lee Faulk Racing to debut in the Nascar NWAAS, as a teammate of Pietro Fittipaldi, the young nephew of Emerson. A tough season with many things to learn but which will lead to obtaining important top 5s in the final part of the championship. Closing the US national final in 7th place overall as a rookie. Another important debut took place in 2012. With the 24h Classic on the historic Nurburgring Nordschleife track, winning the category with a Porsche 911 RS, a success repeated in 2014. He continued with Lee Faulk Racing in 2013, obtaining many top 5s right from the start and moving already halfway through the season to the Nascar K&N for the Sonoma race with the Bogart Motorsport team from Phoenix. In the meantime, the Nascar Euro Series was born in Europe. The TJ Motorsport team contacted Davide for the first ever of the series on the Tours oval in France. And Davide obtained a third place on his debut, becoming at the same time the first Italian in history to obtain a podium on an oval in a Nascar titled race with an entirely Italian team. 2014 was another diversified year. Personal problems during the winter, force Davide to rebuild the season a bit. But with success. He returns with La.Na. and Ferrari in the Italian Cup, triumphing on his debut with the 458. And he also returns to Formula 3, finishing 2nd in the Italian Trophy.
In 2015, things change, just for a change. At the wheel of the Wolf GB08, a prototype managed by Emotion Motorsport, Davide, paired with Luca Pirri Ardizzone, wins the Endurance Champions Cup. A championship in which he also races in the following two years, obtaining a 3rd place overall in 2017. These years are crucial for Davide’s life, who moves to live in the United States, in Las Vegas, and in 2018 he races for Dream Racing Motorsport in the Pirelli World Challenge with a Lamborghini Huracan ST, obtaining various successes and finishing the championship in 4th place. Living in the States makes a return to Nascar easy. He returns to race with Bogard Motorsport but this time in the Nascar Super Truck series. And it is in this year that Davide obtains one of the results of which he is most proud. In Tucson, Arizona, he wins his first oval race. And it is the first (and so far only) time in the centennial history of Nascar that an Italian driver wins a Nascar titled race on an oval track. He continues successfully in 2019, always in Nascar Super Truck with Bogart, but in the meantime he begins the approach to a return to the old continent by returning to race in an Italian championship, the Master Prototypes where he wins in Monza. In 2020, a year marred by Covid19, everything is closed and blocked until July. Month in which motorsport restarts with the Master Tricolore Prototypes always with Emotion Motorsport. Championship concluded in 3rd place. 2021 is another mixed year, with the victory in the Super Proto championship with the Wolf of the Emotion Motorsport team, but also with the occasional return to the European Nascar running the European final with the champion team CAAL Racing. And an episode in the Italian Prototype Championship with a Wolf Thunder.
2022 marks the return to the Italian GT Championship, this time no longer with the Maranello prancing horse but with the one from Stuttgart. At the wheel of the Porsche 991-2 of the Ebimotors team, Davide races together with an American gentleman driver, the 65-year-old Nelson.
2023 sees Davide return to prototypes, but this time on the Radical RS3 and GT3 for some races in Romania with the Smart Driving Romania team, with excellent results that lead the team itself to divert him to the Ligier Euroepan series together with the Le Mans Series, driving the Ligier P4 LMP4. Some sporadic appearances in Formula X Pro with Emotion Motorsport, turn into as many victories with a Tatuus F4.
In 2024 he remains tied to Emotion Motorsport moving to the new Italian Sport Prototype Championship with the new Wolf Raiden GB08. Remaining in contention for the title until the last race, he finishes 4th overall and 2nd in the Aci Sport Cup.
